Apple has hosted a special event titled “Scary Fast” on October 30, 2023. This event mainly focused on the new Mac products like iMac, MacBooks and the latest M3 Chipsets.

Let’s discuss all these in detail.

Apple M3 Chipsets:

Apple announced the next generation custom silicon M3 Chipset family for MacBooks and iMac. These chips are built on 3-nanometer technology which offers significant improvement in performance and efficiency when compared with the previous generation M2 chips.

Apple M3 Chipsets

The M3 Chipsets are available in three variants. They are M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max.

  • M3: This is a basic chipset in the M3 family. The M3 chip features an 8 Core CPU and 10 Core GPU and supports up to 24 GB of Unified Memory.
  •  M3 Pro: The M3 Pro Chipset is designed for professional use. It features up to 12 Core CPU and up to 18 Core GPU and supports up to 36 GB of Unified Memory.
  •  M3 Max: The M3 Max is the most powerful chipset in the M3 family. It features up to 16 Core CPU and up to 40 Core GPU. It supports up to 128 GB of Unified Memory.

MacBook Pro:

Apple has introduced a new lineup of MacBook Pros with the latest M3 Chipsets. The latest MacBook Pros are available in two variants: 14 Inches and 16 Inches. Both these variants come with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max Chips.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with all three chipsets, but the 16-inch MacBook Pro comes with only M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets. Apple has introduced a new “Space Black” colour scheme.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Chipset starts at ₹1,69,990 while the MacBook with M3 Pro chipset comes at ₹1,99,990. The 16-inch MacBook Pro model starts at ₹2,49,990.

iMac:

Apple has announced the next generation 24 inches iMac. The new model comes with the same design when compared with the previous generation. Even the display, bezels, resolution, camera, speakers, mics and ports configuration remains unchanged.

What changed is the chipset. The previous generation iMac comes with an M2 chipset while the latest comes with an M3 chipset. This offers power efficiency and greater speeds.
